help-can i leave my job and claim income support

  • I dont have a child but work 21 hrs a week dont earn enough money. Got my own house, well rent from council i cannot afford to pay my rent or council tax, would i be able to leave my job and apply for job seekers allowance if i told them i could'nt afford to live on what i was getting. or will i not get it.

    kate, when I was single and in receipt of I.S I found that my creditors didn't argue with minimum payments of £5 per month. Perhaps you might consider doing that until you are back on your feet. I'd also steer well clear of debt management companies.
