B&Q Club, Privacy issue

I joined the B&Q club on Saturday but like most people I don't read all the T&C. I have since become aware that my personal details may be passed on to 3rd parties for marketing. This info is buried under the T&C terms and then under "Privacy", there is no tick box to opt in or out. OK, so I tried to change them online by going to "My Account", except I have not found a way to reach My Account. As far as I can see there is no link to it. I emailed B&Q but no reply after 3 days, so today I phoned them. Eventually it was suggested I change my details and put in a false mobile number, which I have done, together with a false address. Not sure it is even legal under the Data Protection Act not to have an opt out choice. I just thought other B&Q club members on this site might like to be made aware of the privacy issue.
