no bath sealant gun...

hi,could i get a decent result putting in bath sealant without the gun-thing please? really don't want to spend if i can do without! cheers

    a skeletal or mastic gun can be had for about £1.99.

  • Sorry but I don't think you will be able to use sealant without a gun. You would have to cut the cartridge open and then trowel it in. Behind the taps would be a nightmare.

    A B&Q cheapie is only about £3.50 and with some masking tape you will do a job to be proud of.

    You could always borrow a gun - most diy people will have one.

    With mastic you want to have a pot of diluted washing up liquid and a lolly stick, keep applying the washing up liquid as you shape with the lolly stick and you get a nice even and smooth finish

    Yes , thats the way , don't just lick your fingers, 'spit' is not slippery enough .

    which is totally useless as you can't apply even pressure to it consistently. Luckily I haven't seen any of that about for eons although I might not be looking in the right place.
