man in van/courier sevice ebay etc, help

Hi everyone i am thinking of buy an item on ebay which seller does not offer delivery, which is ok as maybe i can arrange it myself have a courier pick it up and deliver,it might be coming from north wales and to aberdeenshire, scotland now i looked on ebay and many people offer this service but has anyone used them and how did they recommend them,i think getting on closer to item location would be best but really does not matter, but if the item is of kind of high value how can these people be trusted?Who is to say they not pick item up and never here from them again as they courier service sure would be heaps less than the cost of item,i am not saying they would do this but its possible anyway i wanted to know as there are so much who would you recommend as in service, speed and care in delivery,i am asking in advance as if i do buy the item need to arrange pick up,also anyone got any site outwith ebay that does this service also let me know as i have no clue how to get, also as with everyone less the cost the better but not if its crap service etc

They are based just outside Manchester, I will pm you their contact details.

I need to ship a ceramic sink to Budapest from UK.

I am not sure if it is a scam, but will make sure I have clear funds before sending, but I sold a sink on ebay.

    It is 35kg, and 120cm x 55cm x 30cm.

I have had quotes from £106 to £500.

Anyone know where the cheapest(but reliable/insured) place is to use for shipping?

you want to send a sink from the uk to budapest? wow what did you list the auction as for worldwide shipping? hmmm I would expect you will need to build a crate for somthing that size and weight to stand any chance of it getting there in 1 peice. and the weight will cost to send it too.

best bet would be to send the guy a bottle of super glue and ship the sink in jiffy bags. :)

    Hi everyone,

The regulars on the ebay board should be able to help with queries on shipping costs so I'll move this thread over there to see if you can get some more replies.

I know. And I also know the bid was bogus. When I told the winner the cost to ship would be £110, she replied...ok, just give me your bank details and I will send funds. Err....I dont think so. I told her to pay by Paypal, but have heard nothing back.
