Question about claiming for funeral costs in bereavement

Hi all,
I paid for a funeral for my husband and the whole funeral was arranged by our mosque. Now i am on a very tight budget especially since my husband was the breadwinner and want to claim for the funeral costs, the mosque have given me a receipt of the costs but i was wondering if anyone knows the DWp will actively contact the mosque and let them know i am claiming or will they just accept the receipt?
The reason i ask is we know many people at the mosque and it would be considered embarrassing to claim for such a thing. An odd question i know but if anyone has some inside info i would appreciate it.

As you have already paid for the funeral, I'm not sure whether they will pay, but it is worth claiming. They generally don't pay the full cost. The DWP will require a full breakdown of costs on the receipt.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

I paid for my Dad's funeral on Mum's behalf, she was in no state to manage any financial stuff herself (and didn't have the funds at the time anyway) and when we were at the Funeral Director's making the arrangements I just asked him to send the bill to me.
The expectation was that Mum would reimburse me when her financial situation was sorted out - which she did.
I didn't know about funeral payments until a while later but we claimed and they paid Mum - not all of it as Morglin says.0 -
