Apologies if it seems rude but using something like checkmyfile to find out your balance on a particular account is daft. The only way to get an accurate figure is to contact the institution the account is with - as you have done.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

redpete you do not know the full story so let me fill u up

I had a student credit card with lloyds. I had used it and while at uni I sadly suffered some personal problems and as a result I left uni. I went to Dubai to be with my family and I suffered from depression. Paying off my credit card was not on my mind at the time. Anyways after 1 year or so I remembered it after my dad asked me about it. My mistake I know. Not much can be done about it.

I called up lloyds several times and they had no proof that i EVER had a credit card. I was clearly very confused. I was then asked to check on checkmyfile and bingo I found out the info I was after. I then called up lloyds who did some extra work and found my card.

So I did contact the bank I had a problem with but they had no clue at all lol.
Thankfullt checkmyfile came to my rescue. Had I not checked it the default accounts would have been there for years. I have no clearly learnt from all of my mistakes lol. Never doing any of this ever again :S

When lloyds said check your file did you automatically type this in google and checkmyfile came up.

Lenders don't use checkmyfile and they never will the only information important to you are on experian & Equifax.

lol, no I did not do that. I was actually given that website by someone. I could not used experian/ equifax since I had no valid British address.

I am coming back to the UK in 1 months time. Will only use Equifax/experian.
