I recently bought a National Lottery ticket at my local Waitrose Supermarket using a credit card.
Are there any other shops which allow credit cards to be used for lottery tickets?
On 04.09.12 I bought lottery tickets at Wilkinsons using my credit card.
I have a cash back card so every little helps !!

I would of thought any shop that accepts CC as payment would accept it for lottery tickets, as well as anything else in the store. Some smaller shops have minimum spend limits (usually £5) in order to use your card.0

just a quick thought here, correct me if im wrong people as I've been wrong before...
But if your credit card is currently free spending 0% interest, be very careful.. I'm sure I read in some small-print somewhere that 0% spending is not applicable with betting and gambling websites....?
Cant remember where I read it but if you're going to use credit card to buy tickets on a regular basis, its worth making sure you're not going to get charged interest for it.0 -

It is true that most card issuers will class betting as cash and therefore fee and interest charged. But it will be down to the actual merchant classification, e.g. if you use in on National Lottery or William Hill for example. If you use in a store there is no distinction of knowing you bought a lottery ticket or a can of beans. Thus no fee or interest (as long as paid in full)0 -

In the case of Waitrose it just appears as any other transaction does, whether you're buying fags, lottery tickets, Cornish quartz cheddar, or multiseeded flatbreads (which go very nicely with that cheddar in my view).
They also accept AmEx - so you can buy lottery ticks on your AmEx card from them, and get 1% cashback. Which is probably more return than you'll ever get from the lottery tickets themselvesOptimists see a glass half full

Sure Tesco accept cards as well.
The CO-OP do not.0 -
Why not just play online?
As said though,I'm pretty sure its treated as a cash withdrawl and not the best idea0 -
The branch of Bargain Booze I go to accepts credit cards to pay for the Lotto.0
