Pet Microchips - some need checking

Apologies if this has already been posted - did look but couldn't find anything.

I had my cat microchipped in April and have just received a letter from Backhome BioTec Microchips (Virbac animal health) to say that some of the chips in that batch may have a functionality issue.

I have now got to take my cat back to the vets to have this checked and another chip inserted if there is a problem.

Don't know how many pets this will affect but may be worth checking with your vet.

If your pet may be affected you will get a letter from Virbac, the only issue would be if you didn't update details when you moved.

They sent out all the letters, but hadn't warned their users (ie vet practices) about it! Dreadful planning
