Insurance Question - claim on mine or landlords insurance

Comments

  • Just received a letter from my landlords insurer, they now want documentary evidence in support of the damage to the decorating that will have to be redone in 2 rooms. I last had my entire property redecorated about 6 years ago, and with it been self employed decorators I have no evidence of the painting/decorating charges. I understand needing receipts if you're trying to claim for goods like televisions, furniture etc but receipts for work self employed people do seems a bit much. Anyone else ever had this problem?

You're not being asked for a receipt.

You're being asked for an estimate for the work which is required.

Get a decorator to report on the damaged rooms and estimate for the redecoration in writing, addressed to the insurer.
