Possible Scammer?

My brother has experienced a ridiculous amount of buyers claiming to have not recieved his items, and to me its pretty obvious they are just scammers.
I had a guy buy from my new acount. He paid on monday night. It was sent on Tuesday to arrive wednesday/Thursday. And hes emailed today asking where it is.
His feedback is 97% but its private so i cant see.
Why do i get the feeling he recieved it today, saw i sent it standard parcels, and decided to just say he never received it!

For the life of me I don't know the reasoning behind this private feedback lark.0

Unless you scammer your sellers and dont want them asking each other if they pulled the same stunt on u!0

I always send my items by either Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery to ensure they're signed for at their destination. Otherwise, how can you prove the item ever arrived or not? You can even check online with Royal Mail and view the actual signature.0

No i generally dont buy from private feedback sellers as its really hard to establish a true feeling regarding your purchase, or is it coz they r buyin naughtie things??!!!! and want to keep these items private so I can see from both sides:rolleyes:Don't sweat the small stuff, Its all small stuff.0

active sellers cant have private feedback anymore...but buyers can...0

I dont pay extra for recorded etc because Ive had maybe 1 or 2 people claim they didnt get the item in probably over 500 parcels sent.
How much dearer is it?0 -
Recorded delivery is worthless as it doesn't give you any more compensation than a COP, but does give the post office the oportunity to get the delivery receipt signed by anyone at all and then deny compensation on the grounds that they can 'prove' the item was delivered.
You need to move up to special delivery to increase the 'safety' of your mailings.0 -
It's not only the sellers who suffer. I and several others have been scammed by a joker using the same con in reverse i.e. he never sent it but claimed he did. After a rash of -ve feedbacks, the guy has just turned his feedback private. Disgusting that this is allowed0

Have we ever established how many item not recieved disputes a buyer can instigate and follow through to an actual paypal seizure of funds in one year?
People on here used to say there was a limit of three... ignoring CC chargebacks.
But I've read elsewhere that this isn't the case and they are actually unlimited.
I sold a couple of thousand items last summer and just used the post box at the end of my road (so no COP) because I couldn't be bothered to go to the post office.
And figured that if buyers were limited to 3 non CC chargebacks a year they wouldn't bother fradulently using one to claim a £4 item wasn't recieved. As it turned out only had two buyers claiming non receipt out of 2000.
Got an offer to buy another 2000 of them now but again can't be bothered going to the PO with them so would be interested if we could establish just how many paypal non receipt disputes a buyer can actually win in a year.0
