Hi wondering if anyone can help me,
I have an good credit rating and have all greens on my credit report, i recently applied for a MBNA credit card and was declined, i panicked as i have never been declined for anything before, so when i reviewed my credit i already have an MBNA card open. This was my virgin credit card that i was trying to balance transefer on to this new card. I had no idea they were part of the same company but I am hoping this is why i have been declined, as i was technically trying to pay MBNA with MBNA.
Im no needing a card to do a balance transfer but Im worried how my credit will be affected now, is it worth trying to apply for a completly different one? Any advice would be greatly received. Otherwise i may need my partner to apply on behalf of me but dont want his rating affected too.

Another application probably won't harm. And you may have even been rejected by MBNA before running a credit check, if they don't allow multiple cards, so it might not appear on your report.
But I'd stop after that.0 -
Barclaycard have some good offers on at the moment, and they do a "soft search" to check your likelihood of being accepted.
As you were applying for an MBNA and you already have one, they may just be minimising their exposure by declining you.0
