This is a great site http://language.rabbitspeak.com/ which tells you alll about bunny body-language and what they mean when they do particular movements.

I used it a lot when I had an only house bunny, Mac, now long-departed. He was very clear about the heirarchy in the house - my husband, then Mac, then me, so if hubby wasn't around Mac felt it was his duty to keep me in line!

This website is one of the best out there :D And it is soooooo funny, I encourage everyone to read it. If only to understand how clever rabbits can be. In fact, I got fooled several times by my pair of devils :rotfl:

I agree with others. Once they get a partner, rabbits tend not to "need" their humans that much. Before we got a husbun for our little female, she used to follow us everywhere, especially my husband. To the point that we had to be very mindful of where we stepped! But after being introduced to her male companion, she changed.

It's funny that MrsDrink compared them to cats as that's exactly what I wrote a few minutes earlier on the rabbit picture thread! :D

I always lie down on the floor when I want to interact with mine. Or on the sofa and then come and investigate. Then don't like it when I tower over them (unless it's food time of course :D)

Def agree about them being like cats, their nature is so similar.

Also know what you mean about treading carefully! Mine follow me to the loo quite a bit and when I come out I have to really carefully open the door because their always sat right outside waiting :)

Thanks for the link! That website looks great and love how everything is worded, very funny! :D

It's so cute how your bunny felt that he was in charge when your hubby was out, bless him!

  • Never had a rabiit myself but never heard any of my friends mentioning any 'licking' , so I'm guessing this must be a sign of affection, the love you! :) Unless they are extremely hungry I guess.. :) he he he.
I love their names too. I seem to agree completely with the post above re the single bunny or two bunnies, they seem to have eachother which means they are the same size, colour, creatures, so they will stick with eachother, so no need to bond. Whereas if it was just one, it would seek reassurance by bonding with someone.
I don't think bunnies are neceserrily affectionate creatures, besides to eachother really, have never seen one go up to a human and rub its cheek on a persons arm , like a cat would do!
    They sounds really happy though!

They are also affectionate when they want something :D They know how to manipulate. I am always furiously groomed when we're at the vet's, because they probably think "quick, let's make her happy in case she leaves us there!" :rotfl:

I just love looking at them living their little lives, the tiny little female bossing around her husbun twice her size :D (and everyone else by the way)

:rotfl: I can totally understand this!! In our house MrD is definitely top dog! If MrD and I were in the same room, opposite ends, and both 'calling' Bun he would totally scoot over to MrD for cuddles!! The sod! :D

:) If we're sat on the sofa ignoring Bun and he wants some affection he will sit under our legs and nudge them, fairly hard. As if to say 'oi I'm here don't you know'. (In the same way cats will demand attention by rubbing themselves around a person's leg). :)

Thanks :) Yes I think you're right about being a pair and in a way it's lovely to see how much they love each other :D

So adorable! One of ours comes up to us when we're on the sofa and nudges our feet then runs off...what do you think that means?
