He does say to read his postage rate before bidding and if you e-mail he will explain and answer any questions. I have no problem with people putting huge postage totals down, I mean if you don't want to bid you don't have to!

ditto clareo, they are upfront about it, they are only trying to reduce the fees they would have to pay ebay otherwise, thought people on this site (money saving) would be happy for folks to do this. seems not though

I understand people being upfront with postage costs.
However dodgy sellers could flog faulty goods for a low price with high postage costs knowing they are only obligated to refund the price you paid for the goods, not the postage costs.
This has got to be the highest at 299 pounds, read the feedback left by the unfortunate buyer.

I cannot believe people, "don't have a problem" with the fallout of fee evasion!!

It is such a pain in the rrrrse to have to read every last word of every auction to identify which of the multitude of duplicate items is the best deal!!!!

Gone are the days when a PS2 game at a BIN of £7.99 had to be a better deal than one with a BIN of £12.99 !!!!!

EBay is at the point now where I have given up buying, and simply reap the rewards as a straight up, no bovine excrement seller. ;)

I'm loving the twists and turns in this saga ;), but to be fair to the OP vultura, I've never seen postage that high.

But it's interesting to see, for everyone, all the thoughts (and possible downfalls?) of all things invoved maybe?

IMHO the postage price is clearly stated, and I can't see small print that well. But if people are expecting cheap and bidding expensive?

    It's 'Oh oh time'

Maybe that should be the other way around, but you get the drift?

    Edited to make sense.
  • Its one of those times where the saying "if it looks to good to be true, it probably is". This guy is obviously a trader who wants to flog his stuff BUT wants to get maximum return. What he's done is set the postage to the price he WANTS to sell the item for and any extra is profit (he isn't banking on people noticing the postage fee and hopes it will get up to £100 +) ALSO don't forget that when you list an item you pay an insertion fee based on what you start it at AND you pay a reserve listing, BIN fee (if you use them) AND you pay a % of what it sells for so by doing what he's doing, its only costing him about 20p to insert the item - if he put it on with a reserve of £200+ it would cost him about £6 to list!
