I was widowed 3 years ago and have since gotton engaged to a wonderful man but am not sure where getting married leaves me finacially regarding said benefit. If i stay single i know i can claim til my son is 16...... Any thoughts please

when you say widow's benefit do you mean widowed parents allowance?Babyboo0

Widow's benefit stops on remarriage, it also stops when you live with someone as husband and wife. If you remain single widowed parents allowance will cease when you stop receiving child benefit. Whether you can continue to receive widows/bereavement benefit once the child benefit ceases will depend on the age you were when widowed.
I hope that helps0 -

Just to confirm mr turner's advice above, here's the official link:

Check 'What to do if your circumstances change' near the bottom of the factsheet.
Do we get an invite to the wedding?
Best wishes
