Hotel near the Jack the Ripper Walk

I have booked the Discovery Jack the Ripper Walk for October 13th.

I am hoping to book a hotel for 1 night but am getting stuck.

The reviews on Trip Advisor are either putting me off, the prices are too high or I am not sure what area to book.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It's for 2 couples and we are Travelodge type budget.

Travelling in a friend's car.

  • Have you tried Easy Hotel? It's no frills but very cheap and cheerful.

Don't know if it helps or not but there's also a Premier Inn slightly further down towards Aldgate East though it looks expensive on that date.

Quick look on laterooms suggests that 'The Tower Hotel - A Guoman Hotel' has availability. It's cheaper than the Premier Inn and a much nicer looking hotel. It's down on St Katherine's Dock which is a nice area. Slightly further to walk than the Travelodge or Premier Inn but I'd say it'll be a 15 min walk max to Aldgate East from there.

I work really close by to these places so feel free to ask any questions about the area :)

    Hope that helps

Was thinking of booking the Tune Hotel in Liverpool Street, it is the cheapest and looks very clean - no parking but there is an NCP car park 0.6 miles away for £12 (24 hrs).

Do you think this one is ok?

I'm sure it will be fine. Liverpool street is only about 15 min walk to Aldgate and those hotels get good reviews for being modern and clean etc, just smallish rooms but it's not like you'll be in there much or for a long duration!

Area round Liverpool street is fine too - a relatively good size Tesco just opposite the station for provisions!
