they do it so they can get offers, until they get a high enough one they will accept0

but they have refused the £500 offers....the unit only cost's £425, and another £60 max for extras.

So they've paid maybe £450 for the bundle. Selling at £500 would mean FVF of about £45, so they would only make £5 profit. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0 -
Prices are already down on this, if this guy doesn't sell soon he will be lucky to get £400.
He took a chance on there being a shortage and lost.

I like the fact that at the start he thought he would get £2000 for it!

there used to be scams on these type of items where the item was listed as pre-approved bidders only.
Anyone interested had to contact the seller first, who would add them to a list of names, then point them in direction of those pyramid schemes where you can get them by referring people..
Ebay has stopped those pre-approved auctions, so this may be a way of getting around that.
List the item so high that no-one is going to "buy it now"...but anyone that makes an offer will be given the info on those other schemes.
The OP says there are quite a few listings like this, so possibly they have found a way around the pre-approved bidding block by Ebay.0 -
Strange - if you look he ended it today and it is marked not sold! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
