Do they still only provide "simplified" information, ie lots of data missing?

If so, then better to spend £2 each and get a statutory report from all 3 agencies. No need to worry about forgetting to cancel either!

noddle.co.uk is entirely free, so you don't need to cancel.
It is from call credit though, so you should also get the other 2 for a full picture.

But only if it lets you sign up.

Noddle uses call credit, so you should really check it at least a few times a year, as you should the other 2.

Noddle holds incomplete data, missing accounts and the ER information is either missing or incorrect. Although it's free, it's differently not worth signing up for.

I have had no such issues.
No issues with payments or sign ups.
I am not disputing other people's experiences.
I suggest other's get more widespread views.

Perhaps £2 credit reports is the safest way to go, but it's certainly not a good idea to ignore agencies because one or two people have had a problem.

    Hi Tiggy,

checkmyfile omits the majority of useful information from Experian. Looking at their website the only information they manage to squeeze out of Experian is electoral roll and court records.

    Link here: http://www.checkmyfile.com/credit-report.htm

I've signed up to noddle for my Callcredit report and, like lisyloo, have had no issues at all.

Equifax statutory reports can easily be obtained online for £2. Experian statutory reports can also be obtained online although, in my experience, the process is more convoluted with them insisting on sending a PIN in the post in order to access the report. Strangely the same rigorous security is not implemented should I wish to sign up to the eye-wateringly expensive Credit Expert! Punishment for taking the cheap option no doubt.

I would say that checkmyfile doesn't represent particularly good value for money and seems to 'dress up' its service with lots of useless credit scores, statistics and fancy charts.

Statutory reports are the way to go IMO.

    Regards

It's more about the file rather then the non-fictional 'score'

    Not sure what you mean???!!

In case anyone really doesn't know what this means, the score are generated by the CRAs and NOT lenders.
The CRAs will tell you they use their vast industry experience but the bottom line is that the score does not come from anyone in a position to lend you money and are one method that CRAs generate income.
They are generally considered on here not to be worth paying for.
The report should provide all the detail you need, although not the rules applied by lender which are not known.

Wow! You got all that from that one sentence!

I was a little confused at the term 'non-fictional' which surely means 'factual'?

I agree that credit reports show all required detail, the point I was trying to make is that checkmyfile.co.uk do not supply vital information from Experian (credit account history, credit searches) who are the largest and most utilised CRA of the three. I would therefore consider the 'Multi Agency Report' not to be particularly good value.
