Estate Agency 'Harrasment'...

An agency I spoke to about fee's months ago now will not stop contacting myself or my partner.

Must of had 10 calls between us, 3 letters through the door in the past 14 days!!

I even spoke to the 'senior negotiator' about there fee's and they would not match what our current agent charges so was a 'thankyou, goodbye'.

Since then my partner has been called twice and I recived 2 more missed calls and a voicemail, do they not talk to each other!! Hoping they ring today so I can rant!!

My rant over- just think its bang out of order and it puts me off even wanting to use them to market my property, what ever the fee!!!

On the other hand - perhaps they would be equally proactive about contacting buyers? Might be a good thing?

Next time they call you say "Oh hi, yes really want to speak to you. Can you hang on a minute my mum's just leaving".

Leave them hanging on while you go watch TV/have a shower/whatever.....

I was going to say similar!

We are with an agent who we chose as they seemed very approachable and fairly laid back which kind of matched my wife and I's way of life (they also offered the best deal and are one of the top 3 in the area). We kind of clashed with the car-salesmen type agencies so didn't really consider them...howwwwwever... when we are viewing houses to buy our agency continues this fairly laid-back approach , rarely pestering us for feedback or with info on new properties or pushing properties that have been on their books for a while... I wonder if it would have been much quicker to sell our place if our agent had been similar...

Assuming you are confident you never want to have any contact with this wonderful agency ever again.. (careful guys....)

.. next time they 'phone thank them kindly, be calm & polite, as to speak to manager (I keep going up the management chain as far as I can go but I've more time & patience than most...). Eventually explain, calmly & politely, that you are being harassed and would prefer not to involve the Police..

When they claim not to have harassed you explain that their actions would seem to fit the relevant act.. see

further that the Act goes on & states...

2 Offence of harassment.
..(1)A person who pursues a course of conduct in breach of section 1 is guilty of an offence.

..(2)A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or both.

& did they want a criminal record...

Chances are they'll keep 'phoning...
