Tasty vegetarian gravy? Does it exist?

Hello everyone,
Recently my daughter has reverted to vegetarianism after being a meat eater for a very long time.
My question is - can anyone recommend a tasty vegetarian gravy mix? I've tried the granules from supermarkets and they don't really hit the spot, they seem very bland to both of us. Also, I don't really fancy spending hours roasting and boiling vegetables just to make a bit of gravy (lazy I know).
(Wasn't sure where to post this, hope it's OK on this board!)

Bisto original in the red tub is vegetarian and vegan! Not a hint of meat, check ingredients obviously as sometimes recipes are updated, but you dont have to buy specific vegetarian gravy, not all of them marketed contain meat juices.0

Blimey, didn't know that, I just assumed that if the packaging didn't state 'veggie' then it automatically contains meat juices or extracts.
Got a tub of this in the cupboard and checked it out - you're right, no meat products on the ingredients!
Saved me a few bob, thanks!'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

It still is but they have changed it to Favourite now instead of Original for some reason. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I make my own using Knorr vegetable stock powder as a base. You can add extra herbs etc as you make it to get the flavour that you want. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
