Probably the 'moaners' weren't the sort of people that can sit in a leisurely manner online the next day from 10:30 to 3:45 .... but probably people who had to be up between 5-7am the following morning to drag themselves out to work in order to keep their job - and be safe and observant on the roads between 7-9am.0

So 120 people phoned the Council to complain. 60 made it official. What the media didn't say was that of the 120 compliants, 117 of them were about the fact they weren't allowed to play beyond 23.00 :rotfl:
It wasn't that noisy..and I was about 20m from the speaker rack. I can hear The Stone Roses right now and I'm 4.3 miles away. I'm going to phone the council I'm complain that it isn't loud enough.. Oh and I have to get up at 0500 tomorrow. Some people seriously need to get a life or at least stop resenting the fact that others actually have one.Timmay!0 -
120 complaints and how many attended?
Our economy needs events like this. It is good PR, and lot of people enjoyed themselves.
Everytime the sun shines I have to listen to hedge and grass cutting. It is like a Road Works. Do I complain, of course not. Overall it is reasonable and I am sure that some of what I do probably irritates others. Give and take is how society exists.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -
It's not too long ago that we couldn't have 'nice things' like this in our wee place because of our hands on approach to politics. I'll take the sound of rock gods once a year over the sound of bombs any day. I suppose it's a sign of how far we've come how boring our local news is these days and how little a thing gets complained about.0

Oh wait, that might get the thread pulled, as it's legit to have a go at some on here - ie people who want to get to sleep - as opposed to [STRIKE] hooped shirted, stoned bigots who wish to kill police officers and riot[/STRIKE]. drunken Culchies who want to trash the Holylands, wreck cars and pee in peoples gardens..... Get back To The Farm Yee Animals !!
You know it makes sense:money:
Edited for you :rotfl:0 -
I think the people who 'haven't got a life' are the ones who came on here (and the BBC) to complain about those whose busy lives were disrupted by the noise!:)0

nothing to see here, move along please.0

I am all for events but I was close enough that this was a nuisance for me. I personally would have thought 10 or half past a more reasonable time for cut off... All I got was kept awake by a barely intelligible booming (not to mention the kids crying and the dogs in the area going nuts!).
Weekend and I would have been happier.Always overestimating...0
