Bankruptcy and insurance

Hi Guys
My partner and I are discharged bankrupts 2 and 1 years respectively. Can anyone advise where to start with car and house contents insurance as using comparison sites doesn't identify companies who will accept ex bankrupts until you get to the fine print when you actually try to take up the offer. Thanks in advance.

  • My parter is an ex BR, before the BR the home insurance was with Ecclesiastical and with them a BR living in the house was a no. We went with Churchill who I already knew are fine with bankrupts and saved some money at the same time. I believe Direct Line are OK too, like Churchill they are part or RBS and there are undoubtedly others.

It's seems the best approach is to use comparison sites as a guide but then ring the best ones for a quote making clear your are ex BR's.
