Firefox 14 issues....locking up with Flash and on hotmail

I finally updated Firefox to 14 the other day.
Youtube locked it up straight away. I did a bit of reading and there's a known issue with Flash player add on 11 so I reverted to 10.3. That fixed that.
Next problem was that Hotmail would lock up for about 20s if I pressed "reply". It seemed to be a delay in filling in the "to" box with the names to reply to.
I've been fiddling around tonight and discovered that if the Microsoft Silverlight plug in is disabled then the lock ups stop. I've tried installing the latest version of Silverlight but it doesn't seem to make any difference,
So I've disabled Silverlight. Do I need it?

Most people won't need Silverlight. It is not widely used and even if you do come across a web page that requires it, it will tell you and you can decide whether or not to install it.
I have also had problems with Firefox on Hotmail in the past. Since then I use Chrome with Hotmail.0 -
Oh dear. Vimeo videos now don't work on Firefox.
I googled that and it's a common problem.
I applied the recommended fix and now it locks up when I try to watch a Vimeo video.
I've pretty much had enough of this now and I'm going to look at Chrome.Happy chappy0 -
You could try Palemoon, which will run most Firefox add ons

Have you tried the 21st of August Adobe update?

I've uninstalled all of it. I might reinstall it at a later date. I'll probably go over to Chrome. Using IE at the moment which seems to work alright.Happy chappy0
