    I think the only issue here is to decide if this is to be the final finish, or will you recoat it later?

    What I'm getting at is whatever you do if there is a possibility that you will recoat, then don't use any form of polish or wax that has a silicone content, it would be the devil to re-finish later.;)

    I used a product called Black Bison, a fine paste wax by Liberon, it's well regarded and looks well on the oak dining room chairs and sideboard top I refinished a year or so ago.

    Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
