Didn't have time to post many details last night, so will elaborate a bit more now.
I started working full time in a sales job at 17 which meant I earnt min. wage but comission which could vary hugely depending on performance - I quickly got used to spending far more than I should.
My average day would be : £5 on breakfast, £5-10 on lunch and pretty much every day I went out to eat around £20 - cigarettes an extra £5 on top a day - so around £30 a day on stuff I didn't really need. Weekends would be eating out 1-2 a day and going out usually blowing about £400 per weekend  )
Then there were holidays - in one year I went to New York (twice), Hong Kong and Tokyo - always staying in a 5* hotel. Everything else I bought in this year helped towards the debt - plasma tv, surround sound system, games consoles, games etc.
When I realised how much debt I actually had - I literally stopped spending any money for just over a year - apart from £200 a month rent (still living with parents) . Packed lunch to work, cycling to work, bowl of cereal in the morning, no more eating out, no more going out - if going out making sure it will be free and take no cards or cash out with me. No more international calls from my mobile.
I still have 3 cards left which I don't know the PIN numbers for , so will cancel all bar one and decrease the limit to £1000 to avoid temptation.
I know my situation can't be compared with many as I have virtually no other outgoings still living at home , but I definetely feel that I have learnt my lesson and will not start spending money which I don't have.:money:0
