Halogen Uplighter Glass Shield

I was replacing the halogen bulb on the floor lamp (uplighter) and managed to break the glass shield.
The glass shield semi-circular and covers the entire length of the linear halogen bulb and is anchored at both ends by metal clips. Its purpose is to contain glass fragments from an exploding bulb as well as absorbing UV.
I've been in touch with Homebase where the lamp was purchased but they don't seem to have any spares. It also seems they no longer sell the item.
The label on the underneath of the lamp base states:
Model: 20304
Batch: 5277
M3 7NG.UK
(I realise this info isn't very helpful)
The linear halogen bulb itself is a 118mm bulb (some halogens are only 78mm) and the lamp itself is limited to a max of 150W so if anyone has any ideas on where this part could be sourced it would be appreciated by this clumsy crab.

Update - just found the item on sale at Homebase:
http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=803415
I spoke with customer service who said it is made by "Home Asia." I've tried to locate this company but have been unsuccessful, has anyone heard of it? I'm wondering whether it may just be an imports company.0 -
Another option is a compact fluorescent replacement, as some places do sell versions to fit 118mm halogen fixtures. This will generate little heat and no UV, so would be safe without a glass cover. The other benefits are being safer due to the lower temperature (halogen uplighters can ignite things like curtains) and of course saving energy. I don't believe they are dimmable however.0
