paying in euros?

Hi,
I need to book a flight from Spain to UK one way (ryanair)
the fare is paid in euros E95.49 which is as now £75 on today's exchange rate,
however if i did a dummy return trip to get the price in £'s the exact same leg is £87 (i halved the £6/E6 booking fee to get this)
what will ryanair and my bank (halifax) charge in the exchange rate?

ta, korky

Ryanair will not apply an exchange rate, they will charge you in Euros. As for the ex rate your card company will charge, who knows? They change all the time.

So what anyway? Do you have any choice?

Ah, I see. Unfortunately you will not know until you receive your bank/card statement.

The Ryanair default is to charge you in the currency of the card issuer (pounds for a Halifax card) and display this on the page for your card details to the right of the euro price. You can either accept that (when I booked last month it was €1.19 to the pound...), or click the very tiny writing under the (sterling) cost shown and de-select the 'your conversion is ok' to be charged in euros.

Dunno what the Halifax will charge unless it's a Clarity card - with this you'll get the euro cost converted to pounds at the prevailing rate (currently 1.26 something) with no extra charges.

Depends on how soon you need to book.
Get yourself a pre paid eurocard from FairFX so you pay in euro.
