'credit rating' issue - whats going on?

So i've received my report with both experian and equifax. Both have the financial link to my sister.
Experian say that if you wish to say a piece of info is incorrect then i need to right a letter stating why and to include a statement that will appear next to the entry so when a company see's the information, they will see my statement.
Is this the right procedure?
Thanks0 -

You may have to write to them if you are not on one of their subscription packages but I know you can definitely lodge a notice of dispute online or over the phone if you are on a subscription. What you really want is the lender who provided the data to correct the information they are giving to the CRA though. I doubt much attention is paid to dispute notices on your report0 -
I have a friend who works for a CRA and he said unless the Financial Associate shared or shares any credit previously or now; then it doe snot effect your eligibility for credit; it will be something else. Searches apparently have the worst weight i.e too many searches in a 6 or 12 month period it will throw some applications to a decline as it shows desperation. That’s where I went wrong with out doubt.
I had lots of bad credit and some although satisfied is still there but I have built my credit up and now I am managing things wisely and sure enough my score is rising and I am accepted for more.
I know it is frustrating when you can not get credit; but time is a great healer. J3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

If your sister has a poor credit record then that could be the issue. If there is no financial link you can actually request a financial disassociation online. You may need to do this with the other two CRAs too.
The credit score you can get with your Experian credit report is not allowed to factor in data about other people you are linked to.
