Payees in MS Money 2005

My Microsoft Money 2005 automatically adds the name of everyone I pay money to to the list of payees. Unfortunately, as I buy rather a lot of stuff on eBay, this means that I then have to access the list and delete the name in order to stop the list ending up looking like a telephone directory. My previous edition of Money (1999! - I don't upgrade very often!) had a dialogue box which asked if you wanted to add unlisted payees to the list. Is there any way of getting this in Money 2005? I've checked the help files and Microsoft's Knowledge Base to no avail.

Thank you. A good idea: I cannot say it isn't, as it was the first place I thought of as well. Unfortunately, the Payee Rules Manager only covers excluding and matching payee names.

have you tried right clicking on the entry, to see if a menu comes up with the option to delete?

i also buy lots from ebay, but i list the payee as ebay and the seller in the memo bit. ( this doesn't help i know) but may be worth considering.

Right clicking the entry gives an option to delete - the entry. Your other suggestion is a thought, though - I always like to have a "Plan B".

I Have MS Money 2004.

in the main tool bar there is an option tom customise the buttons. you can add a button for "PAYEES" from which (when clicked) gives a list of all payees that can then be editted to remove the entrieds that you don't need.

I want to stop the entries getting onto the list in the first place! I have a bad feeling that this a "feature" of Money 2005!
