New desktop - what software?

    You would expect the components in a new machine to be supported by Windows out of the box, but it is possible that they may not be. A machine supplied pre-built will have the network drivers, but if you are building your own then it is possible that it may not be included in the OS, and therefore getting it networked could be more tricky.

    Gah! Premonition. So I've got my new desktop (without Windows) and I've got Windows 7. Installation was a doddle, but I can't get online (it's definitely not the router, or the cable, nor was the firewall blocking anything). How do I work out what drivers I need?

    Nevermind. The desktop came with a CD with all the necessary drivers. *slaps forehead*
