Do you tell neighbours your selling up?

Sounds a bit like my neighbours! I did tell them before I placed on the market, but I get on very well with them, and they have been good neighbours to me over the years. But like your ones, they often said I dont know what we will do if you moved etc, and kept saying oh I hope you dont sell it to 'foreigners' or it gets rented out :-( I just said oh Im sure they'll be fine, after all its not like I would have eliminated buyers just to fit in with the preferences of other people.
So that would be my advice, tell them gently and if they start worrying just say I'm sure they will be nice folks. I mean what else can you say, because you can't offer guarantees on people!
good luck with everything.0 -
My friend didn't tell one of her neighbours (the other half of the semi) before I bought her house and moved in. I got real aggro from the neighbour because she hadn't been told and, frankly, I could see her point.
My friend had deliberately not told her but had told the rest of the neighbours. I thought that was wrong (and told my friend so) and I had to pick up the fallout after I moved in.0
