Selling to International Buyers (Ebay) + Turbo Lister

Can anyone help me? What's the easiest way to set listing so that international buyers have to contact me to get postage costs before bidding

I'm just trying to get to grips with Turbo Lister.. anyone know if it can be done on there?

At the moment I'm listing my items, then bulk editing them - not ideal

Getting international buyers to contact you is a nightmare as if they don't you could end up with unhappy buyers or buyers who pay the UK postage.

It is best to list with the postage showing, if using RM there are only three international cost bands, so it isn't difficult.

I've not had a major problem with international buyers so I want to use the option asked about above

Any international bids without prior contact get removed anyway

There is no real option for ensuring international bidders contact you first.

How do you deal with snipe bids and do you really sit at your PC all the time to watch bids coming in?

I understand your concern, and I thank you for it, but for now I'm more interested in how I chose the correct option in eBay

    There is no correct option.

You either have to manually write it in the auction listing description, where it carries no weight with the software systems, or upload postage costs so people can see the correct costs (which take about 5 min to find out when you have a costing for the UK).

If you are happy to take international buyers, then you can block people from individual countries you are not happy with or only allow certain regions to bid - that should be on Turbo Lister. But there is no way of forcing contact before people bid. That will reduce your bidding pool anyway because unless you are going to be at your computer and able to reply when most people bid - just before the end of the auction - you are going to lose out, and some people will just bid anyway and leave you to pick up the pieces later (if someone bids two minutes before the end from, say, Turkmenistan, you will not be able to cancel the bid within that time).

    You can according to this...

"Then, in the International Postage Section, in the Additional postal locations - buyers contact for costs option, click the drop down arrow and change from

'Will dispatch to the United Kingdom and the following' to
    to 'Will dispatch worldwide'

I just cant find or understand the option

You can specify that - I don't use TL so can't help you on where to find it - but that will not ask international buyers to contact you, it will just allow them to bid and you will be stuck with the same problems as your method will inevitably generate.

What Soo and I are trying to give you is more complete advice. I really would urge you to upload international costs - if anything it would reduce your need to monitor your auctions 24/7 for any possible contact.
