Tesco Credit Card: How does the Clubcard bit work?

Hi all,
I've finally received my Tesco CC - and am wondering how, exactly, the Clubcard part works. From what I gather, I don't need to present my actual Clubcard (as my Tesco CC is linked to it) - and this works, in a way, as points are applied to my account once the credit appears on my online statement.
However, I've noticed that bonus points (e.g. 1 point for every £4 spent) are not applied. I assume that these will get calculated with every statement at the end of the month - is this correct?
My question is this: if I spend £40 on the card in Tesco and pay it off immediately, I will get 40 points. But because it's paid off, will I still get the bonus 10 points at the end of the month?
Thanks

I've had a tesco credit card since the start of the year. I've just checked my clubcard statement online and a transaction at Tesco i made last Wednesday has had both the 1 point per £1 added and the 1 point per £4 added the same day and my statement isn't due until the 6th of the month.
It might just take a few days to filter through to your online statement as another purchase I made on Saturday has only had the 1 point per £1 added so far.
Not sure if paying off the purchase immediately will make a difference or not as we put the money spent on the CC in a separate account until our statement arrives then pay off the balance in full.0 -
Hmm thanks. Also, is your clubcard number printed on the credit card different from your actual one?0

Yes they're completely different. I seem to remember going onto my clubcard account online once I got the credit card to just make sure that it had linked the CC with my clubcard account. If you login to your clubcard account and go to view cards you should see your Tesco Bank card listed with your previous clubcard. It might be worth checking that this is the case on your account.0

As far as I'm aware it doesn't, I've had the card for over 2 years and you simply accrue points based on what you spend on the card rather than what you subsequently pay off.Fortior quo paratior0 -
Thanks everyone! The points did show up after a couple of days, and you're right - I have various clubcard numbers linked to my account.
Thanks for clearing that up. It's so nice to finally get proper points for petrol!0
