Halifax 'Guaranteed Acceptance' Credit Card

Hello,

I've got an offer for a Halifax 'Guaranteed Acceptance' credit card through Halifax online banking today, but I don't want to make an application online to avoid a credit check and would prefer a phone application where I can make sure that no credit checks would be undertaken.

Anyone has the telephone number for the Halifax guaranteed credit card team?

Also, in Lloyds online banking, under 'My Offers', I can see the Lloyds Advance credit card listed. Is this also pre-approved/guaranteed acceptance?

Any help would be appreciated.

They're still going to run a credit check on you, however you apply.

If you went bankrupt yesterday, they're going to want to know.

I've had 5 or 5 of these Halifax offers. I seem to remember I called the bank account number and asked to be put through to someone to discuss the 'guaranteed offer' showing online.

Re Lloyds, I've just taken a guaranteed Advance card offer and the limit surprised me. Glad to see they're back to their 'irresponsible' ways...I can't spend what they've given me in the 6 months 0% period! :D

Never had a decline when taking up these offers with LBG, so in my experience they are 'guaranteed'. Also, although I haven't seen my credit report recently, they've never made a specific credit search for me.

They don't make a formal search, ie "search type: credit card application". Instead, they take a monthly feed from the CRAs. But they do say "...providing your circumstances haven't changed recently".

In my case (see above), LTSB must be 'happy' that I've available credit of nearly twice my salary, and (stoozing) debt of around 30% of my salary. But then again, the salary figure they have for me is several years out of date.

I did have £21K with them spread across 3 Vantage accounts, but these were emptied late last year, some 9 months before the 'offer' came.
