Quick! Tomorrow's Travelex Happy Hour, worth it?

What it says on the tin, does anyone know if this is a good deal or not? I'm buying Euros and there's a deal on tommorrow...

thanks

  • I have had a look at this a few times when it comes on, the other prepaid card websites also up their rate for the 2 hour time period. Depending on how quick you need the card it might be a good idea to check out fairfx as well.
Unfortunately I need my euros for next tuesday therefore I will opt to go with the travelex prepaid card rather than cash or the other alternatives as they can take up to 7 working days.

    thanks

I was watching this a few weeks ago, TBH, their rates aren't that great. If you can get to London, Liverpool Street, Best Foreign Exchange is by far the best.

  • I have done this before and it has made one point difference ie 1.15 to 1.16, ok if you are about to do it anyway
  • just to let you know, the sale is on now for travelex, the rate hasnt really increased by much 1.243

Cash Passport Globe is the best choice.
Order online and pick up after four hours at a qualifying store or at the airport on the way out.
Even after the 1.49% fee, the rate you will get today would be 1.256.
