Used Car Claim

Hi all,
Bought a used car from a dealer 54 reg vauxhall Astra with 68000 miles on Friday 17th August and had it booked in for a cambelt change today as it was due. The Garage has now informed me that the window does not fully shut £96 to fix, it has an oil leak £260 to investigate as they have to remove the gearbox as its not an easy fix and has a hole in a hose which is making it leak coolant ( the garage mentioned it was all fresh coolant in the system) cost to be determined.
Can I claim from the dealer for the cost of the repairs? As this car is not in good working order as described? Could I make the claim retrospectively? Or is it best to claim before any repairs are made?
P.S the repair garage is the original manufactures dealership.
Thanks
Lew

How about you contact the garage you bought it from first?0

Have you noticed any loss of coolant? Or the fact a window was open since you bought it?
Does it leave oil patches everywhere you park?
You should give the garage a chance to repair the car. Its 8 years okl. I bet the dealers dont see many 8 year old cars.
They are used to working on shiny new ones with prices to match.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Is it an automatic Astra by anychance..?0

Window not shutting? Don't you think you might have noticed that yourself?
Oil leak? Far from uncommon on a car that age, just ignore if it's not pouring out.
Leaking coolant hose? Again hardly a surprise given the age of the car, should cost very little to replace.
Sounds to me that someone is indulging in a bit of a make-work exercise.Je suis Charlie.0
