Hi, my laptop (Acer Aspire 5738 series model MS2264 is coming up with a message to consider replacing the battery. Could anyone advise where the cheapest batteries can be obtained and if I need to do this immediately or have I got more time. Thank you

You can use the notebook without a battery (it just means you have to have it plugged in all the time.)
Not urgent if you don't use it away from the plug sockets.0 -
Cheapest place ebay.co.uk, make sure to select UK only from the list on the left.
it also depends on the power of the battery or how many cells it has,
more cells higher the price, more mAh higher the price.
heres an example for your laptop
4400mah

Keep in mind you get what you pay for with computer parts. I wouldn't expect much from a £15 unbranded laptop battery. If you're buying because of the "3 year" warranty, check what it covers and how to claim.0

It was only a suggestion he said Cheap, my brother has a laptop and he bought a cheap replacement charger for it, coming up for 2years now he bought via ebay. still works a treat to use his words.
IT really depends on the seller.
some are good and some are just rip offs,
You could buy one from a proper company not via ebay but then expect the price to go up by 3-5times.
and your not guaranteed then that the battery will last longer than a cheapy.
take my neighbour, his friend paid out £100 for a replacement charger, it lasted 1 month and burnt out, the company he bought it from said it was USER ERROR, it was a universal one.
example i bought a laptop universal charger for my neighbour, it clearly stated on the box NOT TO BE USED OUTSIDE.
it worked i plugged it in, checked the light came on, gave it to my neighbour after she reimburst me, told her it COULDN'T be used OUTSIDE.
and why would you.
A week later she asked me to order her another one as the charger had blown, I asked out of curiousity what she was doing at the time.
she replied, Well i was outside with the laptop and charge on my table in the garden, with the charger plugged into a extension lead from the garden shed.
I dont know about her wiring in the house, or the extension cable she was using, but something was faulty.
it was like when her daughter burnt out another one, They had a think wollen carpet / rug on the floor, and i happed to be there when they plugged it in, and put it on said rug, I told her to remove it as the think rug would overheat the charger.
3rd charger they damaged when playing on the PS2 PS3, she had the charger recharging the laptop and had one of those controllers with the light on the end. You are the controller, well she moved her hand and caught the wire and pulled it apart. Why she had the laptop in front of her when it could have been safe on the Side well away from her i'll never know. broke the wire and tip
All the above USER ERROR. possible 1 of them to do with quality. but nevertheless. ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU USE IT.0
