For the most part, doing a levels is entirely pointles if you dont intend to go to university.

Vocational education and training are FE just as much as A levels. Everything up to and including level 3 courses are FE.

Thanks for the replies - my DD has just completed a year at college, and passed the course she was on, she hasn't dropped out. She just doesn't want to be in an academic environment anymore and wants to get a job.
She's registered with connexions, how does that work regarding any income tho?
And any idea how long WTX would expect me to re-pay the overpayment?
BTW : I work in HE
Financially for both of you, your DD's best bet would be to go back to college, at least until she is 18. Thereafter she will qualify for job seekers allowance, which presumably you could take a chunk of if she would still be living with you, given child benefit and child tax credits would have stopped.
I can appreciate she would rather work than study, but if she can't get a job, why would she rather be a NEET than in education?
Is there another course at college she could do that interests her?0
