Just trying to work out whether to let insurers replace floor or take cash settlement. Room is about 18m2 and we're in South Wales. Is £20 per sq m likely to cover it?

Hi, thats works out @ £360 for basically a 4.5 x 4 metre room, a decent handy man should do this in a day no probs, I wouldnt have thought more than £200-£250 fitting.
Shame your not closer

I wish!!!
Insurers have offered £1100 cash v £1300 at selected retailers v replacing it themselves. Trouble is that my flooring was white oak and they only have rustic.

Yeah, we fitted the last one. But that was before we had a toddler, lol.
Was looking online earlier. Will cost £850 for materials for the closest alternative (ours has been discontinued). Doesn't leave a huge amount for fitting.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
