Hi
I was told that if OH applied for non contribution JSA it would be taken straight of our housing benefit so we would be no better off but would receive from two places as it were
We currently get max HB and CTB and nothing else
Is that correct ?

so no income at all?
just rent and council tax paid?[/B]0 -
for a couple they use the JSA couples amount of £111 as the amount they leave you for bills before making a deduction.
Are you making a joint claim? Do you work and earn over £111, if so he will get no payment anyway unless he qualifies for contribution based0 -
Income based JSA is ignored as income for housing and council tax benefits- as others have pointed out the issue is whether he will be entitled to income based JSA (and whether it's a good idea to claim it or not) depends on the other household income- are you working or claiming Income Support or some other benefit(s) as well as Housing Benefit?0

Hi I am earning £620 per month take home working part time he is not working and not claiming anything
So our only other income is HB & CTB
We were told that if he claimed JSA it would come straight off our HB and we would be no better off (not by an official source)0 -
If he does not qualify for contributions based and applies for income based he will not receive any payment as you earn too much so, unless he qualifies for contribution based, he will not receive anything0
