    I would not wish to disclose my finances to an EA just to view a property but if I were to make an offer then I would expect to be asked for proof of finance and also expect my EA to to the same for any potential buyers.

    If my offer was accepted in principle, I would expect to show justification of my finances, but not before.

    I agree mostly. The verification of funds should not be requested until there is a deal agreed - rather than as a condition of considering or passing on the offer.
