Eggcard to Barclaycard transfer issue

Evening everyone!
I am having some trouble with Barclaycard, and was hoping someone could advise or let me know if they experienced the same issue.
My Eggcard outstanding credit card balance was transferred/bought out to Barclaycard sometime ago and as it was a defaulted card, I never received a Barclaycard (which I'm fine with I only wanted to pay back the balance.)
About 2 weeks ago, Barclays contacted me via post and mobile phone to review my repayment plan. This was all dealt with fine and the money has continued to leave my bank account as usual.
Today I have been trying to contact Barclaycard to find out all of my policy details etc, and mysteriously they cannot find me on their systems, even searching old Eggcard number, postcodes, DOB, name etc. They eventually refused to help me because they could not find my account - yet how on earth could they have contacted me just 2 weeks ago (when they want money from ME, surprise surprise!!)
Can anyone offer any guidance on this, as I am baffled and irritated! :(
Thank you
:)

I've just received a letter asking me to contact their office for a review of my repayment plan.
They referred to their previous letter regarding this account but the previous letter I have was from Egg dated 8/2/2007.

Are they going to make me to 1, pay the remaining balance.
    2,review my budget.
or 3, start adding interest to the balance?

I am asking this so I know what to expect when I phone them.

Thank you in advance for any useful advice
  • I would write rather than phone. That way you have a record of events as it doesn't sound like they have a clue
