Missing Insurance Documents - Is this deliberate?

Companies deliberately NOT sending renewal quotes and documents??

My home insurance through direct line was due for renewal back in May. Every year previous, I have had a renewal quote 3-4 weeks in advance and new documentation within 10 days of renewal, but not this year. I let it slide because I really wasn't in a state of mind to go comparing insurance quotes at the time.

BUT, the exact same thing happened with my car insurance through more than. I was a bit more worried about that and phoned to check that I was still insured and they said yes, that the documents had been issued and that there was a fee for replacement documents but that they would be kind enough to reprint and send me them for free on this occasion.

I'm not a big one for believing in coincidences and when something smells fishy to me, I'm usually right. So I wanted to check if anyone else insured with these 2 companies has had the same problem? I assume that the companies are simply not sending out documents in order to cut costs and only if you telephone them will they bother to send them. Of course not sending the renewal quotes is also a good way to catch people out.

If this is a deliberate underhanded tactic then these companies have to be held accountable.

Similar things, But my RAC renewal and birthday cards.

Its not deliberate because it seems to be lots of companies.

More likely to do with the post office. Where is all the post going?

I get a LOT of mail from a number of sources and the only mail I have had go missing is from these 2 companies, and not just once but twice per company, 4 letters in total, so it's a very strange "coincidence". I really don't believe that they were ever mailed to me.

Yes you're absolutely right - it's completely deliberate and the companies are risking being in non-compliance etc, it's all a conspiracy, the moon landings never happened and the twin towers were a controlled demolition.

Moon landings were fake. I bought a telescope off ebay and cannot see the flag they supposedly put there.

Very constructive, thanks for that. Guess your superiority complex kicked in. Put your brain in gear and leave your attitude at the door before you reply next time popous little man.

If anyone cares to think about the odds/statistical possibility of ONLY those letters from insurance companies going missing then maybe it would prove that you had a brain after all.

Mods, censor or delete this all you like, this forum is becoming useless.

It was simply the "m" missed from the word "pompous" but I'm glad that rather than offer constructive replies to posts, that people would rather hijack threads for their own amusement. Hower, if you switch out another term for "butt" then it would also be very apt.

Enjoy your comebacks, I shall be elsewhere talking to the grown-ups.

I've always found direct line quite efficient. I'm sure I got a renewal notice and two reminders about my home insurance last year.
