Expedia Secret Deal - Not Much of a Deal

I decided to treat the family to a night in London was we are going to see an evening performance of Shrek. I tried the usual sites, but thought I would try a secret deal boasting - Deep discounts on quality hotels, and 4* hotel in Marble Arch/Bloomsbury area. Paid the deal and got Holiday Inn Kings Cross, and it was only discounted by £11. I certainly didn't want the Holiday Inn at it's normal price nor at £11 less. That is not a deep discount! I think this is rather false advertising and will definitely think twice before booking one of these secret hotels.

Is King's Cross in the Marble Arch/Bloomsbury area?! (it's a bit to the north east of that isn't it?)

It is just on the cusp of Bloomsbury area, and the Hotel is titles Kings Cross Bloomsbury. If Kings Cross was mention in the 'secret' blurb I would have stayed away. Hugely annoyed that it boasts the great discounts and I only got £11 off. Won't choose a secret hotel again, especially not from Expedia!

Secret hotel deals are often a bit shonky - they are trying to shift rooms nobody wants to pay full price for!

However Holiday Inns are often 3* not 4*, and Kings Cross is by no means Marble Arch (Bloomsbury at a pinch)

Can you call and cancel, there are better deals to be had outside the 'secret' ones?
