Change supplier but lose Warm Front Discount?
My tariff with EDF ends the end of September and usually I'd be up for moving to wherever is the cheapest BUT I currently get a warm front discount of £130 because I'm disabled. As far as I can make out this is between me and my supplier, and every supplier has different eligibility criteria. I think for some suppliers 21st July seems to be the day on which your eligibility is decided, so does that mean that if I move to them the end of September I can go whistle for my rebate? If I want a new fixed plan do I time it for the end of September or 21st July 2013, and pay more in the meantime? Has anyone tried to get EDF to pricematch with the cheapest - as I think this might be my best choice?
Local paper reckons I've got to find an extra £400 for council tax next year so every penny counts. I think the only way I'm going to afford to eat enough protein is to cycle along with my mouth open, catching flies!

EDF have their blue price promise tariff which should be very near the top of your comparison table depending on the area. That is fixed until April 2014. If you decide you want to move next July, there are no exit penalties. It will definitely be cheaper than their standard tariff while you make your mind up who is cheapest and ask them about their policies on awarding your discount.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

Edf gave you discount last year because you were their customer , you should receive it from the new supplier if you switch.0 -

I read on Scotishpower website that they make payments in winter but check eligibility on 21/07/12
So if you join after that would they go through all the eligibility criteria for 1 customer? I doubt it0
