How much might this car be worth in 5-6 years?

Can't post a link to the Autotrader page, but...

BMW Z4, 2009 Reg, 25,000 miles

How much would this be worth in 5-6 years once it has done, say, 80,000 miles? I'm trying to gauge the resale value on this beast.

    What is the Spec/Engine?

Probably 4-6k if in good condition and a Z4 mk3 dosn't come out by then.

As the resale value will depend (amongst other things) on the prevailing economic climate plus the level of vehicle taxation, it's very difficult to predict what any car's value will be in 2017/8.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Looking at the price of 9-10 year old Z3's might give you a rough idea.

7 year old 2005 cars are advertised for around £4000 now so less than that.

In 6 years it will be 9 years old. It could be in the crusher by then, When something expensive breaks.

Who knows what cars we will all be buying in 6 years. Anything over £200 a year tax maybe £1000 by then. Petrol could be £2+ a litre.

Make sure you get it checked, Lots of accident damaged ones around. Some not recorded because not properly or fully insured etc.
If you dont know what your looking at then get someone that does.

  • Our previous (E85) Z4 bought in 2007, 6 months old, 1,600 miles on the clock ex-BMW UK car has dropped 65% from it's full OTR price and 52% from what we paid for it. Not an issue for us as it was bought as a keeper; i.e. 15 to 20 years.

The later (E89) Z4 that you're looking at has dropped even quicker and at 9 years old could be worth nothing as virtually everything has to be done by a BMW dealer. Owners are finding that they can't even change the rear brake pads as the electronic parking brake can only be disabled by a dealer - people have even tried leaving it in neutral, brake off and disconnecting the battery but the electronic brake still comes back on!

Depends very much on the model - average to good 6 cylinder ones (2.0, 2.2, 2.8 and 3.0) can be anything from £3.5k to £5k but a later (2002) one owner S54 Z3M, 45,000 miles, only 73 made in RHD is around £10k - just need to sell my 99 2.8 first!

Yeah good call, I don't think an 8 year old Z4 will ever be worth £150 !!!
