Tesco fiasco

6months ago i bought a HP printer from my local Tesco superstore, it developed a fault 2 days ago, I phoned the helpline on the reciept and was put through to HP. after some rigmarol, about diagnostics i was told to take it back to the store, where-upon i was told i needed a reference number to return it, the tech support guy in store was great but i was there for an hour ! where it was eventually decided that HP would send e a new printer, i really wanted an exchange on the day, but it wasnt to be, Tesco returns policy is naff , Note to self, dont buy electrical goods from Tesco, if they develop a fault after 28 days, you are doomed !ok getting a replcement, but it still stinks that i had to spend an hour on the phone to HP

  • You are getting a replacement - I fail to see why you believe the policy is "naff". Maybe you'd be better off shopping at Dixons or Currys, then you'll see just how good Tesco are.

Dixons / Currys / PC World would be doing exactly the same thing - calling HP, who will deliver a new unit to the store for a swapover (not an instant swapover).

I wouldn't call it "naff" service.

If they stocked the printer still I would have had a word with the manager and asked him if he could give you a new one. HP could have then sent the replacement to Tesco.

HP send a new printer - no ink, no power cable, no manuals, no CD, no boxes. They couldn't sell the printer like this.

    It's annoying, though...

Oh my days you had to spend an hour on the phone.

Nothing wrong with the returns policy from Tesco as its within the law for consumers.
  • God help you when you come to deal with a problematic return, and God help us as that'll be a hell of a thread!

I seen HRH the Duchess of Cambridge in Tesco's Holyhead this afternoon. If anything she looks better in real life than she does on TV.

When I had problems with my HP printer I emailed HP.

They asked me lots of questions, and then said they were going to send me a new printer.

It came from Europe and was with me within 2 days, so I cannot complain about the service I received.
