staining decking

Hello all,

A couple of years ago i stained my decking with the ronseal decking stain which cost me £100 (£25 per tin!) It has proved useless and now i have patches missing and very shabby looking decking. Does anyone have any alternatives they have used which will also cover the mess created by this?

thanks

  • You have my sympathy.

I have the same problem, but I only did this last summer! Any suggestions would be gratefully received

It looks like “It does what it says on the tin” does not apply in this case.

I assume you prepared the decking properly and followed the instructions, though it is hard to see how you can go too far wrong with a simple wood stain. Perhaps it was a faulty batch.

Take it up with the store where you bought it or directly with Ronseal.
