Vauxhall Astra car search...

Hi, I have been looking for an Atsra for a few weeks now. I would like a 1.6 Astra SXI registered in late 2002 or 2003. (I think the wheels are different and so are the lights - smoked)

I have tried quite a few websites - autotrader, fish4cars, ebay etc, but can't really find a decent one. I have about 4k to spend and would like to find one in the north west with under fifty thousand miles. I have also registered for auction view, part of the british car auction website to see what is going through there, but there aren't many. Ebay has quite a few, but when I've contacted the sellers, there are nearly always problems with them e.g. the car still has outstanding HP.

Has anyone any ideas as to where I might find a car like this? I've been to a few local garages and they have the spec of car that I'm after but want 5 to 6k. I thought it might be possible to haggle with the dealers over the ones at 5k to get them down a bit, but I doubt that they would come down as far as 4k. I might be able to stretch to £4250, but again am unsure if the dealers would go that low...

Are there any other decent car search engines around? Is there any way that I could get the dealers to come down to my price?

Am I asking too much??!! :eek:

As you are looking for a very specifc year and model, you may end up having to either wait a while or pay over the odds. The other option is to buy a cheaper model and buy the upgrades (wheels/lights) elsewhere (eBay etc).
