Help - packing panic!

I've read on other threads... sorry can't remember who to credit... that local hospitals are an excellent source of boxes for packing as they have specially strong ones for IV solutions etc and are getting rid of them every day. if you are near a hospital (especially if you know someone who works there) might be worth a try.
HTH and good luck... we've jst spent 5 days packing our 3 bed house for move tomorrow... am still not finished and men arriving at 8.30 tomorrow “A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

You're not in South London are you? I still have half my boxes from moving months ago, and have been meaning to put them on Freecycle...

Don't pack bedroom drawers they can travel as is.
I think I'd start with one room and go from there.
But don't try and shift the chest of drawers in one piece. Take the drawers out one by one, move the carcass, then put the drawers back. It is a good idea to cover the top of the drawers with a tucked in tea towel/pillow slip/towel to protect the contents from the rain and to save any embarasment with undies blowing down the street.:rotfl:
If you are using a removal firm then they may have boxes you can use and argos sell them (look here) if you are desperate - I'm sure you could sell them afterwards. Alternatively, perhaps the poundshops sell some of those plastic storage boxes, again, you could sell them or use them afterwards.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

aren't they a bit small? :rotfl:
No we are in North London, shame, could have used them. Boyfriend has just bought the 'student value' pack of boxes from big yellow ( a bargain of £27 for several different size boxes) , plus we'll get some from supermarket and I'll buy extra black bags! I do have a lot in drawers etc, so it will be easy enough to take the drawers out and just transport them.
Wooh getting EXCITED now! (just, ahem, borrowed some packing tape, labels and marker pens from work)0 -
Bin bags always save the day. :rotfl:
Have fun.
