Replace pilot light with electronic ignition?

I have warm air gas powered central heating from Johnson and Starley which has 2 pilot lights, one for heating and the other for hot water.
Does anyone know if it is possible to replace a pilot light with electronic, or any another type of ignition, that does not use 3kWh and 5kWh of gas each day?

errrr no is the simple answer & I think you may want to check your figures as I think you are looking at the gas rate of the main burners not the pilot lightsI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

I don't think so.
A main burner on a gas boiler uses a lot more than 5kWh of gas a day.
If I was only using 8kWh of gas a day in the winter why am I using 17500kWh of gas a year?0 -
sorry i was using my phone earlier & mis-read your figures, however the answer is still no, you unit is designed with all the controls for a permenant pilot light not for electronic ignitionI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
